How to keep indoor cats entertained
Allowing a pet to go outside unsupervised is a risky decision that will expose your pet to illness and injury. Vets agree that indoor cats, as a group, are healthier and live longer than their outdoor counterparts. With a little consideration, an indoor cat can also have fun and enjoy a healthy activity level.
Two cats are better than one.
Having a playmate will help keep your cat active and happy. It’s best to adopt kittens in pairs so that each cat has a friend his or her own age. Cats are highly social animals and enjoy snuggling together, grooming each other, and playing chasing games.
Leave some carboard boxes around.
Cats love to crawl into cardbaord boxes. If you have multiple cats, they will take turns getting into the box and «defending» it as the others playfully attack. Boxes are easy to obtain from any grocery store or liquor store.
Grow cat grass.
Cats will gladly run, jump, or climb to get some cat grass. Purchase a cat grass kit and you can grow a healthy green treat for your kitties in just a few days. Eating grass is a natural behavior for outdoor cats, and indoor cats will enjoy a taste of the natural world.
