How to wear cologne the right way
Cologne helps you smell nice. That is a proven fact, but there is a right and wrong way to wear cologne and other scented products. With the many public buildings now asking those who enter to refrain from wearing scented products, it is more important than ever to know how to wear cologne the right way.
There is nothing wrong with having a nice scent but it should not be overpowering. It should not be strong enough to cause others to move away from you or to leave a scent behind when you exit a room. The secret is in the way in which you apply it.
Walk through the spray
Rather than spraying the cologne on your neck and on the insides of your wrist, spray the cologne into the air directly in front of you and then walk through it. This puts a light mist of cologne on your clothing as well as your body. The result is that it is not all concentrated on one part of the body.
Never spray more than three times
If you do prefer applying the cologne by directly spraying it on your body, three sprays is sufficient. Any more than that and you will smell as if you have taken a bath in the cologne.
Why spray the throat and wrist
The throat and the wrist are the main areas of the body sprayed with cologne. This is because these are the parts of the body where the body heat is closest to the surface of the skin. This heat helps to make the scent of the cologne more intense.
Do not reapply the cologne too often
Although the scent of cologne does wear off after a few hours, you shouldn’t be constantly spraying yourself with cologne. Five to size hours is a good interval to wait before reapplying the cologne.
