How to make homemade barbeque sauce
Homemade barbecue sauce is wonderful, it comes in many flavors, styles and types. You will find so many uses for it. Pulled pork, barbecued chicken, steaks, beef or country style pork ribs. It’s great for dipping too, for some chicken wings, chicken tenders or whatever comes to mind.
There are thousands of recipes out there and it is hard to choose from so many. Try bottling your sauce and give it as a gift or when invited to a barbeque, take for your host. Put in a nice barbecue basket along with some grilling spices and a barbeque apron.
Instructions
In a blender, place 2 cups ketchup, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup cider vinegar, 5 tablespoons sugar, 5 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 clove minced garlic, 1 small minced onion, 1/2 tablespoon ground mustard, 1 tablespoon worchestershire sauce and 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
Place the lid on the blender and process sauce in the blender on medium speed for 1 minute to puree all ingredients to a smooth texture.
Pour the pureed sauce into a medium sized sacepan and simmer over medium heat for one hour, stirring occasionally.
Cool, then pour into bottles or storage containers. (unless you are using the sauce right away). This is a good sauce to make ahead and have on hand.
