More advanced tie knots can be ruined after the tie is taken off meaning you have to tie the tie each and every time you need to use it. This simple version of knot will be more productive because you will be able to slid the knot up and down with ease, making it easier for you to be able to take the tie off or put it on without having to re-do the tie each time.
This will save you time when getting ready. Another bonus of this is that the formed tie once taken off will sit looped over a hanger or on a hook much better.
Place the tie around your neck with the wide end of the tie hanging over your right shoulder and the thinner end of the tie hanging over your left shoulder. Make sure that the wide end of your tie is slightly longer than the thinner end.
The first cross over
Cross the wide side of the tie over the front of the thinner side.
Now loop the wide side of the tie around the back of the thinner side.
The last loop
Holding onto the back of the thinner part of the tie, bring the wide end over the front, ready for the next step.
The up and through
Take the wide end of the tie and push it up through the back of the centre space you have created. Pull it through and then push it down through the loop you created in step four. Make any aesthetic adjustments you like.
The last step
Pulling on the thinner part of the tie, grab the knot you have now made and slide it up into place around your neck.
