How could a loving God send people to hell
Contrary to many who ponder this idea of: (‘How could a loving God send people to hell’), charge God with this idea wrongly. God in His infinite wisdom knew that mankind would surmise this when we go against His will.
We must now turn to a new idea that is: «FREE WILL». In the epistle of II Peter 3:9, it says:’The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance’. As we have learned from this verse, it’s not His will for us to go to Hell. Then why do we believe God has done this?, the part that is missing is: we have a free will to decide whether we choose Heaven or Hell.
God will never take away our rights, (that humans take from one another). He gives us the opportunity to come to Him or to refuse the Love He Showed at Calvary. He gave this marvelous promise to us in Romans 10:13 saying:’For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved’.That right to call came with the rejection of His Son Jesus Christ by the Jewish nation, ‘He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name'(St John 1:11,12)we have a power inept in all of us to receive Him.
Even before Calvary he spoke through Jeremiah the Prophet saying:’The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee'(Jeremiah 31:3). Again He gives us the ability to call Him, and He continues to draw us with His Love. Now if we choose to take the spiral down to Hell we place ourselves there by CHOICE!.
Earlier I spoke of His long-suffering for us and it’s because God knows how frail we are, and how sin dost so easily beset us, He keeps offering us Salvation, over, and over again!. Some of us receive a invitation early in our lives, and others through some forms of circumstances that leads to His Love. Whatever time in our lives, He will never forget His promise of… ‘long-suffering to us-ward not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance’. The word repentance has seemingly become a Antique of the scriptures, we hear less and less of it from our clergy, and the Evangelists of today.
Repentance is the key to us rejecting Hell, and choosing Heaven, which includes: Eternal Life with Jesus Christ. Becoming Godly Sorry for our passed lives, and
