How to customize your Android phone for Christmas

Christmas is coming! Christmas songs are playing on the radio, there are Christmas decorations everywhere, and you’re looking for even more ways to get into the holiday spirit. If you have an Android smart phone, there are plenty of ways to customize it for Christmas and bring the Christmas spirit with you everywhere you go.

Step 1

Get a Christmas ringtone

There are countless Christmas songs, tunes, or melodies that you can use as a ringtone for your Android phone. Christmas Ringtones is a good app with over 30 different ringtones, including instrumental versions of many popular Christmas songs, the Chipmunks’ versions of Christmas songs, «We Wish You a Merry Christmas,» and some remixed tunes as well. There are other free Christmas ringtone apps you could try, but this one works well, has a large selection, and isn’t inundated with ads.

Step 2

Get a Christmas wallpaper

If your phone supports live wallpapers (wallpapers with animation) you might want to try Christmas Snow Live Wallpaper. It has four scenic, tranquil images of snow-covered landscapes and twinkling Christmas trees. Some other neat wallpapers include FGG Christmas Wallpaper Lite, Christmas Lights Live Wallpaper, and Christmas Wallpapers (which includes many Christmas backgrounds to choose from).

Step 3

Get a Christmas countdown app

Countdown apps will let you know just how many days are remaining before Christmas will be here. Some of them let you install a widget on your Home screen. A few of the free countdown apps include Countdown to Christmas, Christmas Countdown, and Christmas Countdown Widget.

Step 4

Get fun Christmas apps

You need something to do while you’re standing in line at the stores, trying to think of Christmas gifts to buy, or maybe just sitting at work wishing you weren’t. Some Christmas games and other fun apps include Talking Santa Free, Santa Cam Free, and Christmas Slots.
